Big Bend Electric Cooperative recently conducted a cost of service analysis and after careful review, the board of trustees approved a 5.2% rate increase affecting all rate classes including residential, commercial and irrigation. The rate increase will be effective April 1, 2020 with the exception of irrigation facilities charges (Horsepower Charges) will be effective February 1, 2020.
Big Bend Electric is proud to provide its members with some of the lowest electric rates in the country. The current national average for residential electric rates is approximately $0.12 per kilowatt-hour. BBEC’s current residential rate is $0.0642 per kilowatt-hour, about half the national average.
